A household brush with a wooden handle and bristles made from plastic bottles. I will not say that the whole process is straightforward, simple, but not particularly complicated. So anyone can want to repeat it if they want. This is a normal brush, which you can clean the workplace after work.
To make one thing I needed about seven plastic bottles.
The process of manufacturing brushes from plastic bottles
Cut off the bottles of the bottles. It will take only a straight cylindrical part of the bottle.
We cut bottles into tapes in any way. I use this with a self-made device.

The width of the tape as a result is of the order of two millimeters or a little thicker.

Next, I need two more self-made devices. These are rollers for belt tensioning:

With these things you need to make a tight winding.
Rollers of tension are two wine corks twisted by screws to a bar.
In order not to hold or pull the tape with my hands, I use this device. And pull the tape with your hands, you know whether it’s fraught, you can easily be cut off.
We tighten the rollers into the vice and pass the tape through them.
We prepare the rotational frame for the frame.
Dress the frame.
We begin the winding by fixing the first end of the tape.
We make winding with medium effort.
All bottles are wound up.
If now this tape unwind it again takes the form of curls. To prevent this from happening and the tape remains in the shape of the frame, heat treatment is necessary for it.
There are several ways to do this:
- Immerse in boiling water.
- Blow with hot air from the dryer.
- Heat in the oven.
I will use an electric tan for grilling. I put the winding there.
I spend thermostating for a few minutes so as not to melt the tape. Everything should be in moderation.
We take out and cut exactly in the middle all the winding.
The segments kept their winding shape on the frame – which is what we need.
We collect all the segments.
Now we prepare skeleton for a brush. We take two cheeks of the appropriate size.
Sostrugaem little for evenness.
Mark the holes in a staggered pattern for future bristles. Three rows of everything.
Drill the holes. First a small diameter.
Then big. Bad experience. Where without it.
Once again, try:
We make longitudinal cuts with a hacksaw.
Sandpaper we clean the groove.
To fix the bristle brushes, I will use the usual crockery skewers.
We adjust grooves, ate skewers do not fit.
We prepare brushes.
Take the amount that is tightly inserted into the hole.
We dial the series and push the skewer.
Stretch everything down to the stop, pre-greasing with glue on wood.
All three rows of brushes are ready.
All is smeared with glue.
We apply even more glue on the whole plane.
Now glue with the brush handle. Clamp in the vise and leave to dry.
The brush has got the habitual form.
With the help of round files or other adaptation:
Make smooth edges, for a smooth transition.
Grind and make the whole surface even.
We drill a hole in the handle.
We fix the bristles between the two bars.
We cut the knife with a sharp knife by the level.
And now, a brush from plastic bottles is ready!
